Natural Beauty – Skin Care That You Can Believe In

There are many skin care companies that are boasting that they have the absolute best in natural beauty skin care products. The problem comes in when there is more hype than the product(s) can actually live up to. There are many men and women that have been fooled by the hype and claims that these products make. There are also just as many products that will actually do what they claim to. Sometimes the problem is in deciphering all the claims and deciding which of these products will work best for you.

The key to any beauty product working for you and making a difference in your skin’s appearance is in the formulation and also in the fact that you are getting natural beauty skin care products that are designed to work with your specific skin type. Those that are dealing with skin care problems on a daily basis might not have products that are designed for their specific skin type and the problems that you are dealing with. You always want to make sure that you are getting products that are designed with your specific skin type in mind.

You are probably asking how you can tell how much of the “hype” and claims of any natural beauty skin care are real and what you need to be looking for. There are some things that are pretty easy to spot as hype that cannot really be backed up in real life; and yet there are other claims that are not as easy to dismiss as false until you actually have the products in your hands and have used them. For the most part most of the claims that have been made for and by these beauty products have turned out to be positive and proven accurate.

You want to read the list of ingredients very carefully because there are going to be things in many natural beauty skin care products that can actually work against you instead of making things easier for you. You will need to look for things like Aloe and Chamomile in them. These two natural ingredients are among the best in the herbal kingdom when it comes to helping you to keep your skin fresh and clean and soft. There are many of these products that have been adding Green Tea to their formulation because it is an antioxidant and it’s healing qualities are very well known.

There is another herbal ingredient that can be found in many natural beauty skin care product lines that does wonders for the skin is Tea Tree Oil. It is both cleansing and antioxidant at the same time. Researchers have found that Tea Tree Oil is one of Nature’s best cleaners/ cleansers in existence. There is far more that goes into making a skin care or beauty product successful than just having “natural” products/ingredients in them; the companies need to make sure that the ingredients that they do use are not going to irritate any skin type out there.

Health Tips

Health

Your health should be the number one priority in your life. Health is the general condition of a person in all aspects. It is also a level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism, often implicitly human. The physical environment is perhaps the most important factor that should be considered when classifying the health status of an individual. This includes factors such as clean water and air, safe houses, communities and roads all contribute to good health.

Jogging:

For heart health, the benefits of jogging is no need to be doubted. However, to reduce fat and weight, it is not effective. Why is hard to loose weight by jogging?

Here is an explanation of why a body remain fat despite jogging every day.

Constant movement during jogging including aerobic activity can strengthen the heart and respiratory muscles. The impact on health is that breathing becomes more healthy and cardiac pressure will go down so that the risk of hypertension decreases.

However, to burn fat, jogging is less effective. The body will only process the fat into energy if the calories needs obtained from sugar and carbohydrates are not sufficient.

One way to reduce fat is through exercise. Jogging is an exercise which requires lots of energy, so many people do it with the expectation of energy reserves in the form of fat will burned more efficiently. In fact, some people fail to lose weight despite jogging every day.

“The body is like the best machine that constantly adapts to anything. The more often you jog, the body will be more prepared for the next jog.”

Jogging which is done frequently will only cause energy metabolism becomes more efficient. Adaptation which is performed by the body reduce the energy needed so not a lot of calories are burned.

Besides not being effective in loosing weight, jogging is also not good for your joints. When you jog, the joints will have to take 2.5 times the weight so vulnerable to injury.

The joints which are most prone to acute pain attack due to jogging, are the ankles and the knees. If often experience repeated pressure, these joints wear out faster.

Jogging is always considered as an exercise that can increase your metabolism and effective for weight loss.

5 Signs of a Healthy Heart:

If your heart stops beating for just a few minutes, followed by the stop of blood circulation, than your valuable life will end. That is why the prevention of heart disease and blood vessels are very important and highly stressed. Generally there are five vital signs of a healthy heart, which are:

1. Cholesterol

Pretend that the LDL or bad cholesterol is a fire and HDL or good cholesterol as a fireman. “A good firefighter is usually able to prevent long term damage.”

The higher the HDL cholesterol level, the lower the risk of ateroklerosis occurrence. For healthy heart, the bad cholesterol’s target is no more than 130 mg / dl and HDL should be higher than 40 mg / dl. HDL cholesterol levels tend to increase with exercise, lose weight, and eating lots of fiber

2. Blood pressure

If left unchecked in recent years, high blood pressure can damage arteries throughout the body so that the blood vessel wall will be thickened and rigid and clogged so blood flow to vital organs are blocked. Optimal blood pressure are lower than 120/80 mmHg.

Variation of various foods with different combination’s of the right nutrients will be beneficial to blood pressure. Various studies have also shown an effective stress reduction also lowers blood pressure. Spanish researchers say, the consumption of aspirin every day also decreased the systolic pressure of 6.8 mmHg and 4.6 mmHg diastolic pressure.

3. Heartbeat

Life is not in your hands, but in your heart. Knowing the number of heartbeats per minute (resting heart rate) is one way to predict the age. In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine stated, a man who has a resting heart rate above 75 beats per minute (bpm) have three times greater risk of heart attack. Normal pulse is 65 bpm.

“When you do a cardio workout with low intensity and add a high intensity every two weeks, the heart rate per minute will be reduced.” Do exercise at least 30 minutes with 60-80 percent of the maximum amount of heart rate.

4. Fasting blood sugar

Fasting blood sugar levels is a sign of whether there is any risk of diabetes. The higher your blood sugar levels, the greater the risk of developing diabetes. “People with diabetes have a greater risk of heart disease, kidney, and eye disorders.”

To reduce levels of fasting blood sugar, we need to increase the body’s ability to use blood sugar, or in other words to increase insulin sensitivity. The best way to achieve this is to reduce weight.

5. C-reactive protein

C-reactive proteins or CRP is a plasma protein produced by the liver in response to infection, injury, and inflammatory processes. High levels of CRP indicate inflammation in the body. Because heart disease is due to inflammation in the arterial wall, CRP can be used as a common marker of heart disease risk.

Elevated levels of CRP are usually accompanied by increased cholesterol. A high CRP level, more than 1 milligram per liter, also associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. CRP measurement is done by taking blood from the elbow or the back of your palms.

To Improve Sleep:

1. Sprinkle just-washed sheets and pillowcases with lavender water. The scent has been shown in studies to promote relaxation, which can lead to better sleep.

2. Buy a new pillow. Katz says that studies show that pillows with an indent in the center can enhance sleep quality and reduce neck pain. Also, try a “cool” pillow — one containing either all-natural fibers or a combination of sodium sulfate and ceramic fibers that help keep your head cool.

3. Eat a handful of walnuts before bed. You’ll be giving yourself a boost of fiber and essential fatty acids along with the amino acid tryptophan — a natural sleep-inducer.

To Improve Stress Control:

1. Give your partner a hug every day before work. Studies show this simple act can help you remain calm when chaos ensues during your day, Katz says.

2. Have a good cry. It can boost your immune system, reduce levels of stress hormones, eliminate depression, and help you think more clearly.

3. Twice a day, breathe deeply for three to five minutes

To Improve Nutrition:

1. Buy whole foods — whether canned, frozen, or fresh from the farm — and use them in place of processed foods whenever possible.

2. Reject foods and drinks made with corn syrup, a calorie-dense, nutritionally empty sweetener that many believe is worse for the body than sugar, says Katz.

3. Start each dinner with a mixed green salad. Not only will it help reduce your appetite for more caloric foods, but it also will automatically add veggies to your meal.

To Improve Physical Fitness:

1. Do a squat every time you pick something up. Instead of bending over in the usual way, which stresses the lower back, bend your knees and squat. This forces you to use your leg muscles and will build strength.

2. Every time you stop at a traffic light (or the bus does), tighten your thighs and butt muscles and release as many times as you can. (Don’t worry, no one will see it!) This will firm leg and buttock muscles, improve blood flow — and keep you mildly amused!

3. Whenever you’re standing on a line, lift one foot a half-inch off the ground. The extra stress on your opposite foot, ankle, calf and thigh, plus your buttocks, will help firm and tone muscles. Switch feet every few minutes.

Pediatric Dental Care for Your Kid’s Teeth

Why is the care for my child’s teeth important?

Good pediatric dental care habits should begin before your child’s first tooth arrives. Gently wiping your child’s gums with a soft damp cloth after feedings can helps to prevent the buildup of bacteria. The use of a soft children’s toothbrush twice a day after your child’s first teeth arrive is recommended

When your child is preschool-age, you may want to start using fluoride toothpaste. Don’t cover the brush with toothpaste; a small amount is enough. Your child may tend to swallow most of the toothpaste. Swallowing too much fluoride toothpaste can cause staining on their teeth.

Children’s cavities?

Cavities are holes that are formed when bacteria forms in your mouth. Bacteria uses the sugar in food to make acid. This acid erodes away at the teeth. Cavities are very common in children and the recommended tooth care can keep cavities from happening.

Your child may get cavities if he or she eats a lot of sugar based foods and drinks a lot of sweet drinks (fruit juice and punch, soda and sweetened drinks). Some children may have a higher tendency for cavities if they have the following risk factors:

• Has low birth rate or born prematurely.

• Teeth contain brown areas or white spots over time.

• Does not have regular checkups with their pediatric dentist. Teeth should be brushed at least twice a day and your child should see the pediatric dentist twice a year.

Have your dentist show you the right way to brush your child’s teeth.

Diet and the possible affect on your child’s teeth

Obviously, avoiding sweets and between-meal snacks is good advice. Avoiding potential cavities may be avoided by limiting sweet snacks and drinks between meals. Having meals and snacks at regular times is advised. Snacks, such as, fresh fruits and vegetables, and cheese and crackers also can help in the dental care for your child.

It has been noted that some baby bottles can create additional problems with your child’s dental health. When liquid from a bottle is in contact with the child’s teeth for a long time, the sugars may cause tooth decay. The baby’s teeth can develop cavities and become discolored. It is also advised, not to put a baby to bed with a bottle or walk around during the day with a bottle. You may want to teach your child to use a drinking cup as soon as it is acceptable.

Your child’ teeth and thumb-sucking

Sucking the thumb, fingers or a pacifier is common. It may be good to inquire of your pediatric dentist as to the individual child’s development regarding the teeth and their natural progress. This is typically not a problem so long as it is not prolonged. Again, this can be answered by your pediatric dentist at your child’s regular dental care checkup.

Natural Beauty Products – When "Natural" Skin Care Products Can Be Bad For You

Just like many other consumers, you probably prefer natural beauty products and natural skin care products because you’re concerned that many synthetic chemicals in creams and lotions can harm your skin or affect your overall health. But did you know that sometimes even so-called natural skin care products can have a negative effect?

Why Your “Natural” Face Cream or Lotion Can Be Bad for You

This has happened time and again to many people: they buy a beauty skin care product that’s supposed to be formulated especially for sensitive skin, yet find themselves breaking out in rashes or suffering from skin redness after applying it.

Why does that happen, when the eye cream or lotion contains natural ingredients that are supposed to heal — not harm — your skin? Here are two of the reasons why:

Reason #1: It could be that you are allergic to some natural substances. Take tea tree oil, for instance. There’s no doubt that it has numerous benefits for your skin: it helps wounds heal faster and is used in many acne treatment products. However, it can also cause redness and irritation in people with sensitive skin.

Reason #2: The healthy skin benefits of a natural ingredient seem to be cancelled out by other ingredients in the product. For example, there’s one very popular skin firming moisturizer you can find in most beauty stores today. It contains seaweed extract, a natural substance which has been proven to rejuvenate skin. BUT at the same time, the product also contains aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, a kind of aluminum salt. This substance has been approved for use in cosmetics, subject to some limitations. However, there also is concern about its neurotoxic effect on humans.

How to Find Natural Beauty Products You Can Use Safely

First, look for an anti-aging or skin care product containing natural ingredients that pose the least risk of causing side effects. One such natural ingredient is jojoba oil. Because its chemical composition is very similar to our skin’s natural oils, it can be used safely for all skin types without fear of having an allergic reaction.

Second, make sure the product contains sufficient concentrations of those beneficial ingredients. Many beauty companies deceive consumers in this manner; they do include natural substances in their products, but in amounts that are simply too small to provide any real benefit.

Third, learn which ingredients to avoid in a skin care or beauty product. For your own protection, know why you should not use a face cream or body lotion that contains substances such as perfume or mineral oil. By arming yourself with this knowledge, you are better able to find natural beauty products you won’t have qualms using and recommending to others.

Tips on Health

What if I told you that our health is the most important asset we have. Would you believe me? Why is it today that everybody seems to be plagued with bad health.

You can make a stand and try incorporating these health tips into your everyday life and see if they make a difference to your total health.

Lets have a look:

Don’t Smoke – One of the main reasons why people decide not to give up smoking, and sadly, the reason why some people take it up is the effect smoking supposedly has on you weigh gain or loss. It is true that smoking has been associated with an increase in metabolism it is a drug!!

However it is a dangerous, addictive drug and surely the tiny effect it has on your metabolism is outweighed by the huge risk of dying from lung cancer.

Interestingly in regards to weight gain and loss, although smoking over 25 cigarettes a day can increase your metabolism by up to 10% overall, smokers have been found to be fatter than non – smokers!!

Take In More Water – You can live three weeks without food, However you can only live for three days without fluid, just think 3 days and its all over, one could suggest that fluid is fairly important!

Your body is anywhere between 60 and 70 percent fluid. The fluid in your body is responsible for helping to keep every system of your body in good working order, including all of your metabolic processes.

De-hydrate and everything slows down. The fluid in your body will also ensure that you can move well and be active.

If you start to dehydrate, your body’s ability to do basic activities will slow down and your ability to exercise effectively or even enjoy exercise will be reduced. You will feel tired, lethargic and will probably get a headache.

Eat A Variety Of Foods – For protection from the majority of illnesses such as heart disease and cancer you need a variety of foods that deliver that mix of nutrients and minerals.

Aim to eat different coloured fruits and vegetables. Try to eat a different food each month. Eat an apple a day as the apple pectin cleanses the body’s digestive system by removing toxins and therefore preventing degenerative health problems such as cancer.

Relax For 20 Minutes a Day – Relaxing for at least 20 minutes a day will go a long way to reduce blood pressure and your reactions to stress. Sit or lie somewhere comfortable, Breathe slowly in and out of the nostrils breathing deeply into your abdomen. Say HAM as you inhale and SA as you exhale.

These suggestions are charged with positive energy and will help you control your emotions. Try once a day for fantastic results.

Floss Every Day – Flossing your teeth every day is the best way to prevent gum disease and protect your heart. Gum disease, which is left untreated, can lead to inflammatory reactions in the body that can trigger heart disease and stroke.

Drink More Tea – Try drinking more tea instead of coffee to help protect your body from damaging effects of free radicals. Tea is a rich source of antioxidants that play a big role in protecting against some cancers and cardiovascular disease.

Get Active – Aerobic activity not only burns calories but also increases your metabolism and can keep it elevated for several hours after a workout. You don’t need to spend hours each day on the treadmill or bike to reap the benefits.

Exercising aerobically for as little as 20 minutes, three to five days a week will make a big difference. Extra movement throughout the day is also essential, take the stairs instead of the lift, lose the remote and move at every opportunity you can.

Get More Sleep – Lack of sleep changes your hormone levels and capacity to metabolise carbohydrates so less sleep = slower metabolism.

Studies have revealed that deep sleep causes cell repair and cell growth, which will speed up the metabolism and burn calories. So aim to get at least eight hours sleep a night.

Eat More Protein And Boost Your Energy Levels – Protein stimulates the major brain chemical dopamine which keeps us alert, try chicken or tuna salads for lunch. Go for complex carbohydrates rather than white flour and sugar, as they will provide a sustained energy source as opposed to a quick hit.

Another reason to leave simple carbohydrates out of the diet is that they have a negative effect on your skin and how it ages. The more sugar that is in the body the more you force a chemical reaction causing sugars to attach to proteins and this is very detrimental to your skin.

So go ahead and introduce these tips into your everyday life, I am sure you will reap the benefits as you go forward.
