The Kettlebell Get Up (Or Turkish Get Up)
Ladies, this single kettlebell lift is one dynamic and hard hitting exercise that is sure to take your workouts to a whole new place. This entire exercise is one that you will surely be impressed with the first time you see it, and absolutely impressed with the first time you do it. To execute the lift you will start by laying on your back with the kettlebell in one arm lifted up above your head. Your shoulder should be locked into place and your arm should be at a perpendicular angle to the ground from the start of this lift to the finish. As you lift the bell up into the lifting arm assist with the free arm. From here angle your foot on the leg of the same side as you have the bell lifted to just outside of your hip. You will also want to keep this leg bent. Keep the opposite leg straight. From this set position simply contract your abs and start rolling onto your side until your weight is distributed onto your elbow and then work it onto your hand. From here your arm with the bell should be above your head the entire time with your arm at a perpendicular angle to the ground. Use your bent leg to help you shift and move your body into position. Once you get to where your weight is supported on your hand then simply get up! Now how you choose to get up is your business, but just make sure that you are comfortable and balanced in doing so. From the standing position just simply reverse the entire process to return to the ground to the start position.
